Spider and the Fly
Available from PlanIt Playgrounds or Fast Line
The goal of Spider and the Fly is for the spider to catch the fly, but it’s not that simple! Both players start at the center of the web, with the fly moving first. Players take turns throwing a marker onto the target, moving the number of spaces the marker lands on. A positive number moves them out to the edge of the web, while a negative number sends them back towards the center.
The game ends when either both players land on the same space (the spider wins!) or the fly makes it to the "fly away" space (the fly wins!). Players can even team up with partners to throw markers, keeping them engaged without leaving the playing board.
This game encourages counting, spatial awareness, and strategic thinking, making it a fun, interactive way to practice math and problem-solving skills!
